Check out Lynn Wilkes on the rock climbing wall at Amelia Island CrossFit! While on vacation she found time to get a workout in. Great job Lynn! 

While working out in the heat can help with staying mentally tough, it does carry a risk of overheating and heatstroke. Yes it is hot in here and you need to take precautions. It is most important to stay hydrated. While water is important, it is also important to keep nutrients and electrolytes flowing through your system. We are not big advocates of Gatorade and other "sports drinks", but they can add some needed sugar and elecrotlytes. A better choice would be a pure, unsweetened fruit juice. As always, eat well. Stay in front of the fans when possible as evaporation of sweat cools the body. If you begin to feel an unusually elevated heart rate, nausea, or become lightheaded, take a break in front of the fan.

Here is the good news for those of you who are staying home because of the excessive heat. We are getting an evaporative cooling fan! It should be here no later than Monday.

-For Time

-The goal is reach 100 Thrusters. You begin by doing 5 burpees at the top of every minute. The rest of the time is spent accumulating as many thrusters as you can until the top of the next minute where you will perform 5 burpees again. You will keep a running count until you reach 100 thrusters. Men us 95 lbs. Women use 65 lbs. Post time to comments.

    I won't be able to make it for a team WOD tomorrow night–scheduled a client for 5:30 before hearing of those plans–but will do the BS/PU/Burpee WOD posted from the 23rd and report my time. And I'll see you all at Trivia Night in New Town!

    Scaled up to 115lbs for Strength Bias. Intended on doing 50 thrusters, but after 5:52, called it at 25. Killer WOD.
