The first workout for the 2011 CrossFit Games sectional will be announced today. If you want to compete and submit times, get to the website and register as an athlete. The cost is only $10. Even if you don't intend to compete, it will still be fun to see where you stand. The following is information posted to the best of our knowledge. If there are any changes, we will keep you posted.
- There will be 6 sectional workouts. One workout will come out each Tuesday of each week.
- CrossFit Valley Park will opt-in as an affiliate each week. This means anyone can come here to have their attempt judged and times submitted.
- Everyone attempts to qualify as an individual. Based on availability, we will try and form a Valley Park team. The team must have 3 men and 3 women. We will submit our top scores to try and qualify for the team competition.
- Each week we will post an "open gym" period for tryouts. This week it will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until we are done. Judges will be available. There is no charge if you can make it during this period. If you wish to attempt the workout at any other time this week, you will have to contact us to schedule. Any non-member wishing to schedule an attempt outside of the open gym time will be charged a $20 fee.
Wednesday Strength/Skill Work: Warm up to include KB Sots Press. Deadlift 5 x 3. Alternate with alternating kettlebell presses for 1 minute. There is no required number of repetitions. Just try to keep a steady pace.
