Amanda Miller

The CrossFit Community recently lost a great athete to Cancer.  Amanda Miller competed at the 2009 CrossFit Games. If anyone there was lucky enough to meet her, they met a friendly and determined athlete. Her "two-gun" tatoo just give it away. This is one bad chick.  In browsing her blog, it was amazing to see how she kept her head up, kept training, and never gave up. Rest in Peace.

Her blog should be required reading for anyone who works with the terminally ill. The level of honesty, courage, and optimism she shows, in the face of a deteriorating situation is astonishing. I teared up a couple of times reading some of her entries. This is a woman who understood the most fundamental of all lessons–time is the most important gift we have, so make the most of it. I wish I could have known her…

Trey very good comment. When something like this happens it makes you realize how fragile life is and that you should live every day to the fullest. The crossfit community lost a great person

Wow, I really took some time to read her blog. It's just incredible how she was able to share her unfortunate experience with such class and heart. It is hard to imagine that these were some of her last words and they were directed towards the CrossFit Community. The amount of pain she decribes is hard to imagine. You can sense her desire for it all "to be over with." Just wanting things to be "normal." There is a lesson to be learned. I hope everyone takes time to read it. Don't take things for granted.
