Darby Clean

Our next Athlete of the Month is Darby Seymour. This is one of our all time favorite pics of her! Darby has a great story so be sure to check it out. She had a lumbar microdisectomy in April of 2010. Surgery went well and after some weeks of recovery, she was able to ease her way back into CrossFit. She spent plenty of time strengthening her back, working on mobility, and stretching. She is now able to push 100 percent and has no limitations. In fact, she is set to compete in the upcoming Heart of America CrossFit Challenge. Darby has always worked hard but her inspiring comeback has earned our vote for Athlete of the Month. Congratulations. We are proud of you.

Tuesday Strength/Skill Work: Burgener Warm-up. Practice Snatch Balance with Dowel. Back Squat 5 x 10. Alternate with Body Rows 5 x 10.

SO well-deserved! I'm astonished at how far you've come back in a relatively short amount of time…a true testament to what's possible if you're willing to undergo a little pain and a lot of sweat. Or a lot of pain. 🙂 I'm very happy to have you back in the gym, dusting me regularly in the morning WODs. Bring it!! Awesome work, Darby…

Darb!!!! I knew that surgery wouldn't slow you down..not you! I am so proud of you my friend. You kick butt every day and look fantastic! Excited about HOA!!

  4. You have been my inspiration ever since I started CrossFit. Keep up the hard work and stay injury free! Dan, you should enter some of your pictures of Darby in a photo contest, the combo of your artistry and her beauty beats anything I have seen in any fitness magazine.
