Weightlifting shoes make a difference. You don't have to get into Olympic Weightlifting to benefit from a sturdy shoe with a solid, elevated heel. Jon and Dave are not the most flexible athletes and have both struggled tremendously with the Overhead Squat. Yes they have both been diligent about mobility but as you can see, their shoes have made a huge difference. Solid work Jon and Dave.
If you are serious about training, it is a solid and worthy investment. In fact, you are better off barefoot than in soft sole tennis shoes. The new minimal support shoes are also better than a standard tennis shoe. The "Squishy" sole will absorb load, strength, and power….which are much desired lifting qualities.
