"CFVP stands at 16th place in the North Central Region"

We are posting alot of updates on the 2012 CrossFit Games Sectional workouts. We would like to applaud everyone who has come in to take a shot at the weekly challenges. We have talked about this many times before but there is something we can all learn by the efforts of our members.

There are many people participating in this simply to challenge themselves to new levels. They are going up against the best in the world and while they may realize their limitations, they are choosing to face them head on. Here we are witnessing some of the greatest moments in the gym. Not because that athlete set the bar with a score, but because they are doing things they hadn't imagined. They are posting scores and getting reps beyond expectation. They are breaking down barriers through a competitive environment. There is no greater performance than the one that took more heart and determination. The outcome is sometimes secondary. If anyone was there to watch Steve Himmelman get through every single Toe to Bar he could get, despite burning up the clock, you had to be touched. Every single one of you has the chance to inspire and change others.  It was a great weekend filled with great moments. Be proud of yourselves.

The point of this little speech is not just to highlight performances, but more importantly to stress some important lessons. Your journey and progress in fitness is about you. It is about you growing mentally as much as physically. It's about you making a continual effort to put yourself on your own podium..right there in the middle. Everyday you have the option to do something great for yourself. Take it when you can. As athletes, you are often the coach, teaching us valuable lessons.

Thank you so much. But all of you deserve much gratitude. I wouldn't be where I am or who I am without everyone's encouragement and support. For that I am more grateful than words can say.

  3. This past year, I attended the Thirteenth Angel Foundation anunal gala with family. It was an exceptionally organized event, which offered great items to bid on, all of which was donated to charity, good food, drinks and entertainment. The night was inspirational! Although I did not have the opportunity to meet the late Angela Mazzaferro, I did have the opportunity to speak with friends and family who have been touched by her presence, spirit and dedication to an unbelievable cause. This will definitely not be the last time that I attend the Thirteenth Angel Foundation anunal gala I only hope that others will take this testimonial as an opportunity to attend the gala and see for themselves!
